Whereas the original jams and songwriting edged towards the Southern end of the rock spectrum a liquid lineup in the early days has left its mark, as Crux now write and perform progressive rock with a nod towards Queensryche, Savatage and Fates Warning - with elements of early Judas Priest and other NWOBHM bands - together with some of the punch of Alice in Chains and other post 90’s rock. However labels do not easily categorise Crux, a name chosen as the bands sound is a result of the confluence of all their influences and the band as the focal point - not the musicians themselves.
Adam (ex 9xDead, First of the Stygian, This System Kills, Armageddon, Distorshaus, Backlash….) is a guitarist who seeks sonic perfection. A fan of using the guitar as an instrument, not a weapon, his playing and writing span a wide generation of influences from the frantic (Lynch, Satriani) to the intense (Lifeson, DeGarmo/Wilton). From spacious, textural soundscapes (Polaris, Prey For Sanity) to brutal rhythmic and tonic assault (Prepare for War, Crown of Thorns) he aims to have no one tone, no safety zone - using whatever sounds and tones fit the song.

Gareth has been playing bass for 8 years he brings a thundering bass to CRUX. His previous bands were Psycho Circus, Ghetto Machine and Winter Air. His influences are Metallica plus classic/southern rock

Chris is a 20 year old drummer from Ebbw Vale. He recently played in a screamo/thrash metal band called Until Now.. He picked up his first drum stick wen he was 7 but he didnt actually play seriously until he was 12. He play’s a wide range of style’s like rock, metal, funk, pop, jazz etc, which we believe he will combine well within Crux. His influences are Metallica, Korn , Slipknot, Terrovision, Pantera, Faith No More, Nirvana and his idols are David Silveria (Korn), Joey Jordison (Slipknot) and John Bonham (Led Zepplin).

Dafs Dearson ; the melodic yet powerfull vocals of Dafs speaks for its self , his influences range from Crimson Glory to Judas priest . He joined Crux and changed the direction of the band from the southern grind to the prog metal sound thats been compered to Queensryche and Dream theater , he has an energy on stage that is created by the members of crux that forms a power house of classic yet original metal

James has been playing for over 12 years, influenced by such greats as Glenn Tipton, Adrian Smith and Dave Murray, Vivian Campbell as well as the legendary Eddie Van Halen - he brings to Crux a feel for the twin guitar sound, in rhythm and in lead, that we hope will thicken us out further.
A lover of the traditional ‘thick as a brick’ Marshall … See moresound in contrast to Adam’s more textural approach, James plays Jackson, Dean and Tokai guitars… It is this contrast, this dark mingled with light, that we feel will drive Crux forward - after all, Crux was formed in conflict, and its music thrive

Crux are now a live preforming band and has many gigs lined up so watch this space \,,/

Between The Embers are a new band on the Bristol music scene. We play a slight mix of Screamo (thanks to Craig) with Metal (thanks to Mike). It’s heavy, fast-paced and guaranteed to blow your socks off!

With only a handful of songs, so far, under our belts, we try to create our own sound with each of our different musical influenced backgrounds. We try to mix them as evenly as possible to create a sound which not only fits us, but hopefully the people who listen to it.

Craig (Vocals), Mike (Guitar) and Nick (Drums) formed the band in 2008 and have been going, so far slowly, ever since. We recently recruited Mike’s cousin Gary as our bassist and are looking to set up gigs around May time and after. So if anyone wants to book us, give us a bell!

Midnas Reach are a Bristol 4 piece who’s beginning to brake the live scene in such places as surface unsigned and are eager to play there original material in literally any place possible around Bristol.

A four piece. Guitar-driven. No frills, no lulls, totally uncompromising and heavy as hell.

Eschewing micro-genres and fads for raw, high quality songwriting and heartfelt performance, this is the real thing: thunderous and destructive to behold, yet shot through with precision and grace.

Already creating quite a stir among those in the know, BSR will be hitting the stage this year for an extensive UK tour.

SHARP END FIRST have been combining giant beatdowns, epic melodies & a touch of the atmospheric since 2004.

They released their debut EP, ‘Songs For The Betrayed’ on Glasstone Records which so far has achieved national & overseas press & sales including the U.S. and Europe.

SEF have also gained Worldwide airplay including Total Rock Radio for over 8 weeks running, and have toured alongside such acts as EXIT TEN, HUNDRED REASONS, SKINDRED, DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL, SHAPED BY FATE, TWIN ZERO & TEXTURES to name but a few.

The Debut Full-Length record, ‘Rule The Day’ due out this April on Glasstone Records serves up a much anticipated 11 tracks of unadulterated SHARP END FIRST.

Trigger the bloodshed are a 4 piece metal band from the southwest. Formed in September 2006 TTB are already booked to share stages with such metal acts as Narcosis, Mistress and Born to Break Even.

With explosive live performances, and unforgettable stage presence expect a lot from this band.

U.K.-based based extreme metal band TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED will release its debut album on November 26 via Rising Records. The CD is being produced Mark Daghorn (CRADLE OF FILTH, ONE MINUTE SILENCE, RAGING SPEEDHORN, MENDEED, ORANGE GOBLIN) and will be mixed by Karl Groom (DRAGONFORCE, MENDEED, THRESHOLD).

With Love From Humans are a collection of beings from Bath, UK. We have recently completed a five track mini-album, each song special to us in its own way. These are our tales of mixed emotion. These are our tales of life. These are our harsh truths and gentle lies.

If a distant civilization in a far-away galaxy were to open a package labelled With Love From Humans they would release an unruly snapshot of modern life and love from our 21st Century planet.

An antidote to gloom and foreboding, these guys chop out an upbeat carnival of charm and wistfulness; a peculiarly British sound that wraps up elements of Kinks, Kooks, melody, rhythm and atmosphere. They’re as upbeat a postcard from Earth as we’re likely to send… Producer, Davey Ray Moore.

Blackbud

We’re called Blackbud, we’re originally from the Shire (Wilt) and we’ve just recorded our second album in East London.

BLACKBUD, the critically lauded West Country 3 piece, are finally set to release their much anticipated new, self-titled, Mike Crossey produced (Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight) album ‘Blackbud’ on June 8th through Independiente.

The album is a follow up to 2006’s ‘From the Sky’, described at the time by David Sinclair from The Times as a ‘Truly an epic band in the making’, the band and album went on to receive praise and plaudits from the likes of Zane Lowe, MTV2, Uncut Magazine, Classic Rock and The Guardian.
